Dog Products I Swear By

Confession: I am a total “dog mom”. I obsess over my dogs and often refer to them as my furbabies and gladly call myself their mom. I spoil them more than myself (oops) and can’t go for more than 24hrs before I start missing them and wish I could see them. I’m also constantly buying them new treats or toys. So you might be wondering, what kind of things do I swear by when it comes to my three large, rambunctious dogs? A lot, actually –

Costco Dog Beds

My pups LOVE Costco’s dog beds! I’ve spent so much money in the past buying highly rated dogs beds (I usually buy a new one every 6 months- 1 year) but eventually, the dogs refuse to sleep in them unless they’re forced to (prima donnas, right?). I honestly have no clue how Costco makes these puppies (no pun intended), but they are seriously like magic, my dogs love them and are constantly laying on them throughout the day. The best part? They’re extremely reasonably priced!

Zesty Paws Probiotic Bites

So, we’ve already covered the fact that my dogs are prima donnas, which is kind of my fault. I spoil them so much, it’s ridiculous. I can’t help it! Anywho, when perusing the black hole that is Amazon one day, I stumbled across these probiotic chews. When I saw the amazing reviews (4.6/5 stars with 3,388 ratings), I decided I had to get them. Heidi is notorious for having tummy issues, and I figured this could help and also be useful for Raven and Pax. The result? Pretty good. They definitely have kept Heidi regular and I feel better knowing all of them are getting extra probiotics and they’re helping alleviate their allergies and hot spots.

OurPets Comfort Elevated Dog & Cat Feeder

Sam and I refuse to feed our dogs directly on the ground. We’re terrified they will end up getting Megaesophagus, the enlargement of the esophagus. Although it isn’t totally preventable since it can be congenital, elevated feeders can help with the prevention of megaesophagus. It’s common in a handful of breeds, with one being German Shepherds, so we want to make sure we take extra precautions since Heidi is full German Shepherd and Pax is almost half.

Petmate Pet Cafe Waterer Cat and Dog Water Dispenser, 3 Gallons

Another necessity, this thing is seriously a live saver, especially since Pax joined the family. Our 3-gallon water dispenser is the best thing to bless our lives. We usually can get away with filling it up about 1-2x a week, compared to multiple times daily with a regular water bowl.

Pet Camera Wireless 1080P Full HD Pet Camera

I think my new favorite hobby is spying on our dogs when we leave them home alone. Seriously it is SO entertaining! Although that’s not the reason we got it. This camera is awesome for checking in on the pups every now and then and making sure they aren’t wreaking havoc, and if they are, yelling at them to stop (thanks 2-way audio!).

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance

So I’m not going to lie. I used to think pet insurance was kind of dumb back in the day, but I’ve matured and realized that it’s actually so important! I’m so happy I got it too because it turns out that Raven needs to get a tooth extracted from a bad tooth fracture, which most likely occurred when she was chewing on an antler (DO NOT RECOMMEND!). Her insurance is going to save me so much money. Honestly, you should invest in this. You never know when an emergency surgery might occur and you have to pay $1k+ instead of $250.
